‘Sonar Bangla’ not possible under Mamata, says Amit Shah
"I want to ask Mamata didi - why are you hurting the interests of our refugees?"
Indian Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Shah on Sunday said that dreams of "Sonar Bangla" will not be fulfilled under the current West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
"Bring the BJP to power and in five years, we will make the dream come true. This government of Mamata di is not allowing PM Modi to develop West Bengal. You gave chances to the Communists for two decades and to Mamata di for 10 years. Did they develop the state? No. Give us five years, we will turn Bengal into Sonar Bangla," said Amit Shah, reports The Indian Express.
"Aar noy (no more) tolabaji, appeasement, infiltration, violence... this is the slogan that will change the government of Bengal," added the BJP leader.

Shah accused Mamata Banerjee of triggering riots and burning trains to oppose the new citizenship law, with the the three-day violence in Delhi over the new Indian citizenship law at the backdrop. The violence in Delhi claimed 43 lives this week.
"I want to ask Mamata didi - why are you hurting the interests of our refugees? You only care about infiltrators. Refugees are being misled and scared...Hindus who fled our neighbouring countries who were raped and threatened and killed... should they not get citizenship?" Amit Shah asked.
Amit Shah kicked off the BJP's campaign for the upcoming municipal elections on Sunday. He said the BJP will have an overwhelming victory in the next assembly elections in the state.
Shah's presence in Kolkata was met with protests from the students.
