Measures on battery-run rickshaws as per court orders: Home adviser
Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury says the government expect good instructions and will implement them accordingly
The government will implement the High Court's (HC) directives on battery-run rickshaws, said Lieutenant General (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, the home affairs adviser of the interim government.
"We expect good instructions and will implement them accordingly," he told reporters after a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Law and Order at the secretariat today (24 November).
During the briefing, Jahangir also said there will be no shops on the roads.

Asked about fake and false cases, he said it is true that such cases are being filed and strict actions will be taken against those doing this.
"To ensure that false cases harass no one, committees will be established in each district," he added.
Mentioning that the law and order situation is gradually improving, the home adviser said strict actions will be taken against anyone attempting to deteriorate it.
"Experienced and skilled individuals from retired police and Ansar personnel will be employed on a contractual basis for traffic management, similar to community policing. Initially, 500 people might be employed in Dhaka, along with students as before," he added.
