Industrial adviser inspects BSCIC projects in Munshiganj
Mr Adilur Rahman Khan, Adviser to the Ministry of Industries, accompanied by Senior Secretary Ms Zakia Sultana and BSCIC Chairman Mr Ashraf Uddin Ahmed Khan, visited three key projects in Sirajdikhan Upazila, Munshiganj: the BSCIC Chemical Industrial Park, BSCIC Plastic Industrial City, and BSCIC Printing Industrial City on 26 November 2024.
The visit aimed to assess the progress of these projects, review ongoing development efforts, and provide strategic guidance for future work. Designed to relocate chemical storage facilities from Old Dhaka and plastic and printing industries from Arambagh and other regions, these projects focus on creating safer, eco-friendly industrial zones. Once completed, they are expected to enhance working conditions, attract investment, and generate significant employment opportunities.
Officials present during the visit included senior representatives from the Ministry of Industries, the Munshiganj district administration, BSCIC, and project teams. The adviser emphasized the importance of maintaining quality while expediting project completion, assuring full government support for the initiatives. He highlighted the potential of these projects to employ approximately 200,000 people and contribute significantly to GDP growth.
Senior Secretary Ms Zakia Sultana and BSCIC Chairman Mr Ashraf Uddin Ahmed Khan reiterated the government's commitment to supporting local industrial entrepreneurs and ensuring sustainable development in the chemical, plastic, and printing sectors. The visit has raised optimism among stakeholders, marking a significant step towards advancing Bangladesh's industrial landscape.
