Keep calm, don't pave way for conspiracies brewing: Hasnat Abdullah
Sarjis Alam says, “If any individual, terrorist group or terrorist organisation tries to incite communal riots using religion as a tool, strict action must be taken'”
Hasnat Abdullah, convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, has urged the people to remain calm rather than allowing conspiracies to be brewed against the country.
"You should be patient, stay calm. Please don't create any kind of unstable environment by taking law into your own hands," Hasnat said in a post on his verified Facebook page this evening (26 November).
"Our Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony. We will not let this communal harmony be harmed in any way," he added.
The post further reads, "Since 5 August, a vested group has been continuously conspiring to create anarchy in our country. Please, do not get involved in the conflict yourself and pave the way for their conspiracies to brew further."
Referring to Advocate Saiful Islam Alif's death during the unrest in Chattogram over former ISKCON Bangladesh leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari's arrest, Hasnat Abdullah demanded the immediate arrest and trial of those responsible.
"If any specific organisation was involved in the killing, action must be taken against that organisation as well."
In another post, Sarjis Alam, a member of the National Citizens Committee and general secretary of the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation, wrote, "If any individual, terrorist group or terrorist organisation tries to incite communal riots using religion as a tool, strict action must be taken."
"Whoever is involved, I want the maximum punishment for committing murder. There is no leniency for conspirators," he added.
