Hefazat-e-Islam demands banning Iskcon as terrorist organisation
Leaders of Hefazat-e-Islam have demanded banning Iskcon by declaring it a terrorist organisation.
Speaking at a rally today, Hefazat-e-Islam's General Secretary Maulana Mamunul Haque warned if the government or the judiciary hesitates to fulfill this demand, Hefazat-e-Islam will be forced to arrange a tougher protest.
He alleged that a well-planned plot to incite communal riots is being hatched in the country.
"Those arrested in the murder of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif should not only be brought to justice but those behind the incident should also be exposed," he said, demanding that former prime minister Sheikh Hasina be made an accused as an accomplice in the murder.
His party also said no "servant" of India will be allowed to come to power in Bangladesh in future.
The protest rally was organised in front of the Baitul Mukarram Mosque in Dhaka by the party's Dhaka Metropolitan unit.
The Hefazat leader also alleged that former Iskcon leader Chinmoy Krishna Das was acting as a foreign spy.
He demanded that the government place Chinmoy on remand and thoroughly interrogate him to uncover information about the conspiracies against Bangladesh.
