Germany's Scholz arrives in Kyiv for surprise visit: ZDF reports
The German leader will hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, as well as announce the delivery in December of further armaments worth 650 million euros
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has arrived in Kyiv for a surprise visit, his second since Russia launched a full-scale invasion of its neighbour nearly three years ago, public broadcaster ZDF reported on Monday.
The German leader will hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, as well as announce the delivery in December of further armaments worth 650 million euros ($685 million), ZDF cited Scholz as saying upon arrival.
Germany is trying to assure Kyiv of its continued support amid uncertainty surrounding the policy of the United States towards Ukraine and Russia during the second presidency of Donald Trump.
