Sharmin Akhter has been shortlisted for the ICC Player of the Month award for November following a stellar comeback to international cricket.
After a 16-month absence, the Bangladeshi batter returned in style, delivering two impressive innings against Ireland that showcased her class and consistency.
The 28-year-old is one of three nominees for the award, alongside South African all-rounder Nadine de Klerk and England opener Danni Wyatt. Sharmin's performances in November were pivotal, as she amassed 139 runs in two ODIs at an average of 69.50 and a strike rate of 91.44.
Her efforts included a near-century knock of 96 runs from 89 balls and another crucial 43-run contribution off 63 deliveries.
Sharmin's return to international cricket began with the series against Ireland, her first matches since July 2023.
In the third ODI, played on 2 December, she further underlined her form by scoring 72 runs off 88 balls.
Among her fellow nominees, Wyatt scored 142 runs at an average of 71 in three T20Is against South Africa, while de Klerk contributed 80 runs and took four wickets in the same series. Sharmin's inclusion in this elite group highlights her impressive impact during November.
