India extends Covid-19 travel and visa restrictions till July 31

India has extended its travel and visa restrictions due to Covid-19 pandemic until July 31, says a circular issued by the country's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Friday.
All scheduled international commercial passenger flights will remain suspended during this time.
The restrictions, however, will not be applicable to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by India's DGCA.

The circular also says that the authorities may allow some international scheduled flights on selected routes on case to case basis.
Earlier on March 11, India ramped up travel restrictions and closed a border with neighbouring Myanmar to counter the coronavirus outbreak, as countries across South Asia reported a rise in cases.
Worldwide, at least 524,825 people have died and almost 11,018,642 people have been recorded as infected by the coronavirus, which originated in China late last year.
