Scholastica holds virtual graduation ceremony
Certificates were awarded to 564 students of the Scholastica Uttara and Mirpur Senior Sections
Scholastica, one of the leading English medium schools in the country, ended its three-day long Graduation Ceremony on Friday. Due to the current circumstances, this time, the event was organised using virtual technology.
Certificates were awarded to 564 students of the Scholastica Uttara and Mirpur Senior Sections. Among them, 333 are O-level students and 231 are A-level students.
Prominent writer and former professor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Dr. Muhammed Zafar Iqbal, addressed the graduates via a video message as the chief guest of the ceremony. He urged the students to be real human beings first and foremost saying, "You can use technology as much as you want. But remember, do not let the technology use you!"
Syeda Madiha Murshed, managing director of Scholastica; Wasima Parveen, director and COO, Scholastica; Farah Sophia Ahmed, principal and head of section of Senior Campus Uttara; Nurun Nahar Mozumdar, head of section of Senior Campus Mirpur; and Sabina Mustafa, head of Academic Affairs, Senior Campus Uttara and Mirpur congratulated the graduates in individual video messages at the ceremony. The speakers highlighted the role of youth in creating a better and safer world. They said that Scholasticans have always responded to the call of humanity and the same is expected from its graduates.
Several alumni from home and abroad also delivered inspirational messages full of best wishes to the new graduating students on video messages. Among them were Nazim Farhan Chowdhury, managing director of Adcomm Limited and Tanjil Chowdhury, chairman, Prime Bank Limited.
Members of Scholastica's Voice Club, Literature Club, Graphic Design Club, and Music and Dance Club enchanted the attendees of the virtual program with their mesmerising performances of singing and dancing. A large number of parents, teachers, students, and officials enjoyed the event online.
