The list puts the number of injured people at 11,551
The government has published the first phase draft list of casualties during the July-August mass uprising, putting the death toll at 858 and the number of injured at 11,551.
Two draft lists have been published on the website of the Special Cell on Mass Uprising (https://musc.portal.gov.bd) to finalise the list of the martyrs and injured, the Press Information Department (PID) said in a press release issued today.
The lists will be available to the public until 23 December.
The Health Services Division, the Directorate General of Health Services, the district committees formed in 64 districts and the Special Cell on Mass Uprising are working tirelessly to finalise the list, reads the release signed by the cell's team leader, Additional Secretary Khandaker Zahirul Islam.
It requested the family members, heirs and representatives of the martyrs and injured individuals to give their opinion to verify, bring corrections and finalise the names, addresses and other relevant information of the martyrs and injured published in the two draft lists.
The release also requested to send opinion or suggestions regarding the published list or any reasonable information for inclusion or deduction, if there is any, to the e-mail of the Special Cell on Mass Uprisings at [email protected] by 23 December.
