Prize giving ceremony of DEVTHON 5.0 held at BUP

The Final Round and Prize-Giving Ceremony of DEVTHON 5.0 were held on 23 December 2024 at Shadhinota Auditorium of BUP.

'DEVTHON 5.0' was organized by the BUP Development Leaders' Club under the supervision of the Department of Development Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The competition was designed to inspire students to think creatively and participate in Bangladesh's sustainable development.

The three-day programme had five segments: International Interdisciplinary Conference, Case Competition, Short Documentary Competition, Career Expo and DevTalk. In the case competition segment, team 'Doh Mahino Mein Paisa Double' from North South University became the champion, team 'Rotten Mars' from Bangladesh University of Professionals became 1^st runners-up and team 'The Pitchers' from Islamic University of Technology became 2^nd runners-up. In the Short Documentary Competition, teams 'Slytherin', team 'Yet Another Bizcomp Team (YABT) ' and team 'Lana' from Bangladesh University of Professionals became 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position, respectively. In addition, team 'I-SignBerg' from the University of Rajshahi received a Special Mention Award.

Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Ministry of Water Resources, was the Chief Guest and distributed the prize among the winners. Major General Md Mahbub-ul Alam, BSP, ndc, afwc, psc, MPhil, PhD, Vice Chancellor of BUP, was also present for the programme.

BUP Officers, Faculty members, Students, and Invited Guests were also in the programme.
