Seminar on biomechanics of mental health held at UIU
The Department of Civil Engineering of United International University (UIU) organised a seminar titled "Biomechanics of Mental Health" on December 24, 2024 at UIU Campus.
Professor Dr Md Taher Abu Saif, Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering, University of Illinois, USA, was present as the Keynote Speaker and Professor Dr ABM Badruzzaman, Vice Chancellor, BUET, was present as the Guest of Honour in the program. The Executive Director of the Institute for Advanced Research (IAR), UIU Professor Emeritus Dr M. Rezwan Khan, presided over the Ceremony. Professor Dr Hasan Sarwar, Dean, School of Science and Engineering, UIU and Professor Dr Mujibur Rahman, Department of Civil Engineering and Director, CSIRS-UIU, also spoke in the program.
Dr Rumana Afrin, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering Proctor, UIU, delivered the welcome address. Professor Dr Muhammad Mizanur Rahaman, Department of Civil Engineering, UIU, delivered the vote of thanks.
The Keynote Speaker, Professor Dr Taher Abu Saif, shared his research experience in the United States. At the same time, this distinguished scientist expressed optimism about establishing a micro-electronics lab for higher research in Bangladesh. He called on the country's higher education institutions, including BUET and UIU, to work together for this.
Dr Taher said that even after a person's age increases, even after the age of 65, it is possible to maintain the functionality of his brain cells with proper and moderate exercise, walking and hard work. Even after age 65, new brain cells are created in the human body through regular walking or exercise.
Professor Dr ABM Badruzzaman, The Guest of Honour highlighted his education and research experiences. He emphasised quality higher education and research and hoped UIU would create more work opportunities in education, research, and innovation.
