Lodge complaints against misbehaving embassy officials: Asif Nazrul to expats
He asks to specify names of officials, nature of misconduct
Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Adviser Asif Nazrul today (28 December) urged expatriates to file complaints against any Bangladesh embassy officials around the world who have misbehaved with them.
"When I went to Dubai and talked with expatriates, they told me about the hostile behaviour of some embassy officials. If you [expatriates] file a complaint, we can investigate and forward it to the foreign ministry," he said at an event in the capital's Probashi Kallyan Bhaban.
"Please don't just say this in general terms [addressing expatriates], but specify the names of the officials and the nature of their misconduct. Without a complaint, we can't take any action," he added.
The event was organised to hand over financial aid to workers who were recently released from prison in the United Arab Emirates.
Asif, also the law affairs adviser, further said, "Please submit your complaints in a well-written format. I believe that if someone treats you with hostility instead of helping you during your time of need, they should not only face disciplinary action but also legal consequences."
He also mentioned that the government would look into the matter of providing loans on easier terms to those who have requested loans from the Probashi Kallyan Bank.
