Trade bodies should not allow fascists: Khosru
He said Tarique Rahman has given them clear instruction for keeping the business institution out of all politics
Trade bodies should not allow any ally of the Hasina-led ousted fascist regime as they ruined all sectors of the country, BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said today (1 January).
"If we want to restore and strengthen the democracy, in no ways we should give any space to the collaborators of ousted fascist regime, even if we have personal friendship and family relations with them," he said this at a views sharing meeting with businessmen under the banner of " Bonchita Babsayee Forum" (BBF) at his residence in Chattogram's Mehdibagh.
"Country's economy, trade bodies as well as traditional business institutions were destroyed and lost their past glory due to practicing ill-culture and corruption," he said.
The BNP standing committee member said Tarique Rahman has given them clear instruction for keeping the business institution out of all politics as the fascist force did this for 15 years.
"Those who have plundered the public wealth and laundered money for so many years have no right to regain their positions in the political, social and business arenas," he said.
The BNP leader said beneficiaries of the ousted regime are active in social media to regain their control.
They should be put in jail through legal process," he said, adding, "Jail should be the proper place for them to serve."
Amir Khasru said businessmen and business bodies should decide who would lead them as his party has no intention to impose any decision from the top.
Convener of the BBF SM Saiful Alam presided over the function while former BGMEA president and advisor to the BNP Chairperson, SM Fazlul Haque, city BNP convener Ershad Ullah, member secretary Nazimur Rahman, BBF member secretary Shahidul Islam Chowdhury, businessmen Shawkat Ali and Abu Saleh, among others, spoke on the occasion.
