Gratuity for govt employees to be announced before 30 June: Public admin secretary

The senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Mokhlesur Rahman, has announced that gratuity for government employees will be declared within the current fiscal year. However, he did not specify the percentage of the allowance.
Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat today (9 January), the secretary, a member of the gratuity review committee, confirmed, "This time, pensioners will also receive the gratuity."
"The allowance will be added to the basic salary during increments," he said.

When asked about the timeframe, he assured, "The gratuity will certainly be provided before 30 June."
For further details on the percentage, he suggested consulting with the financial adviser and finance secretary.
The secretary could not confirm whether the existing 5% incentive for government employees would continue after the gratuity announcement, stating, "It is not appropriate to speculate. You may discuss this with the financial adviser and finance secretary."
