Khulna’s Sushobhan tops medical entrance exam without coaching assistance

Sushobhan Bachhar has achieved top position in the MBBS first-year admission test for the 2024-25 academic year.
The results were announced this afternoon (19 January).
Sushobhan, a resident of Aziz's Mor area in Khulna city, achieved the highest score of 90.75 in the admission test, according to the Directorate General of Medical Education.
His father, Subhash Chandra Bachhar, is an English teacher at T&T Adarsha Secondary School in Khulna, while his mother, Bandana Sen, is a homemaker.
Sushobhan, the only child of Subhash and Bandana, excelled academically, having passed his SSC from T&T Adarsha Secondary School and his HSC from Khulna Model School and College.
The announcement of his success in the medical entrance test has brought immense joy to his family and the community. Their home has been filled with well-wishers offering congratulations and flowers.
"My son always dreamed of becoming a doctor," said his father, Subhash Chandra Bachhar.
"He achieved this remarkable feat without attending any coaching classes, studying entirely at home. He expressed confidence in scoring above 90%, and he delivered on his promise. While I expected him to secure a place, topping the exam was beyond my expectations."
Subhash said Sushobhan has always been an enthusiastic reader, immersing himself in a diverse range of books from an early age.
This achievement follows in the footsteps of Sumaiya Muslim Mim, a student of Khulna Majid Memorial City College, who topped the medical admission test in the 2021-22 academic year.
