Zia was a killer of Bangabandhu: Liberation war minister
The minister made the remark at Akhaura international immigration check-post in Brahmanbaria, while travelling to Agartala
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said today that although Ziaur Rahman, the founder of BNP, was a freedom fighter, he was also a killer of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He made the remark at Akhaura international immigration check-post in Brahmanbaria, while travelling to Agartala, the capital of India’s Tripura state.
“It is true that Ziaur Rahman was a freedom fighter. It is also true that he was a killer of Bangabandhu. Khaleda Zia has always tried to make the Liberation War controversial,” he told journalists.
The minister expressed his gratitude to Tripura and its people for their contribution during the Liberation War in 1971.
Mozammel Haque has been visiting Agartala to participate in a programme jointly organised by the Tripura government and Muktijuddho Academy Trust, Bangladesh.
He is supposed to return home on Saturday.
