‘Othoba.com’ launches online cattle market
Popular e-commerce site 'Othoba.com' has launched 'Online Kurbani Mela' to facilitate the customers to purchase sacrificial animals from home to avoid risk of getting infected amid Corona outbreak. The e-commerce site will deliver the animals to the customer doorstep at specific time.
Othoba.com started accepting the order on July 12 and will continue till July 25. Therefore, the customers will also be able to place orders through othaba.com's helpline 09613800800.
Mahamudul Haque Ullash, Head of Business at Othoba.com said, "We have taken the initiative to facilitate those customers who want to purchase sacrificial animals by avoiding hassle of purchasing sacrificial animals visiting cattle market. We will receive order till July 25 subject to availability of sacrificial animals. It will be applicable only for the customers of Dhaka."
He also added, "We are selling different sizes of cows and goats considering the customers demand. This sacrificial animals have been reared in a completely natural way and no forms of harmful hormones or steroids have been used."
Some 10 species of cows including local, Indian, Australian and cross-breed are available on Othoba.com. The prices of the sacrificial cows, available on the site, ranges between Tk 76,000 and 4, 50,000 while goat prices started from Tk 9,000.
Kazi Kawsar Sweet, Assistant Manager of Business Development at Othoba.com, said, "Customers need to pay 20 percent of the total amount in advance for placing an order and can use a debit or credit card for payment. The rest of the amount has to pay on delivery of the sacrificial animal. Therefore, customers are able to see the cattle through visiting the firm."
He added that the cows will be delivered to the customer doorstep from July 26 which will be ended the day before holy Eid-ul-Azha. Othoba.com has taken necessary steps to deliver the meat of sacrificial animals after slaughtering it in proper Islamic way and customers need to pay specific charge for this."
