Private US spacecraft headed to moon captures glorious view of Earth
A private US spacecraft headed to the moon has captured breathtaking images of Earth during its journey. Firefly Aerospace's lunar lander, named Blue Ghost, is currently orbiting Earth and recently fired its thrusters to set course for the moon.
The spacecraft, launched on 15 January from Florida by SpaceX, aims to land on the moon by 2 March.
It is carrying NASA experiments as part of the agency's mission to return astronauts to the moon in the coming years.

Blue Ghost is one of two landers launched on the same day; the other, sponsored by the Japanese company ispace, will take a longer route and land in late May or early June.
This marks Firefly's first moon mission, while ispace is on its second attempt after its first lander crashed in 2023.
The ispace lander, Resilience, is currently orbiting Earth, preparing for its own lunar approach.
