Recommendation for primary recruitment on the model of BCS
The Primary and Non-formal Education Reform Advisory Committee has recommended bringing the recruitment process of government primary school teachers under a BCS-style cadre system. Currently, recruitment for the position of Assistant Teacher in government primary schools is conducted through the Directorate of Primary Education. On the other hand, recruitment for the position of Headmaster is done through promotion and directly through the PSC (Public Service Commission).
