Police, in various anti-drug drives, have arrested 2,530 drug dealers and addicts in 1,714 cases across the country in seven days.
They seized over three lakh pieces of contraband yaba tablets, around 6,000 bottles of Phensidyl, almost 2.5kg heroin, 820kg marijuana, nearly 2,700 litres of local liquour and 291 liters of foreign liquor in those drives from July 12 to 18, according to a press release issued on Tuesday.
Under the direction of Inspector General of Police Benazir Ahmed, police made the drives to execute the prime minister's zero-tolerance policy towards illegal drugs and substances, the release added.
