In a bulletin, the Met Office on Monday said that the low over North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh moved northwesterly direction and intensified into a well-marked low over northwest Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
It is likely to intensify further and move in a northwesterly direction. Under its influence steep pressure gradient persists over North Bay and adjoining area.
The Met Office said that squally weather was likely to affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas.
It advised all the fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay to proceed with caution until further notice.
