The food doesn't come cheap, but the guys who gave you Madchef, Cheez and Yum Cha District have done it again!
Some of their duck items are ducking good but recently, they have introduced a few new items like the White Tom Yum Chicken Noodle Soup with Prawn ball.
We tried a few of their items - Egg fried rice, Deep fried morning glory with house special sauce, Chef special lobster in chili paste and Thai herbs, White Tom Yum chicken noodle soup with prawn ball and Seafood claypot with glass noodles.
White Tom Yum chicken noodle soup with prawn ball
This is a new item and is probably one of their best dishes to date. The soup has the expected sour and tangy Tom Yum flavours and the minced chicken goes perfectly.
Once you add in the beautiful looking glass noodles and the prawn balls, this becomes a dish that hits all the right spots and then some.
It's an ingenious creation worthy of high praise and given the price of 795 plus VAT and the fact that it can easily feed three, we can't help but give this a perfect 10 out of 10.
Deep fried morning glory
This is basically fried spinach with a crunchy coating that makes you feel as if you're having crisps.
A Thai staple, the House Special sauce with shrimp has enough tanginess and flavours to really whet your appetite and is a fantastic appetiser.
Priced at Tk 575 plus VAT, this appetiser is good enough for three people and we rate this a solid 7 out of 10.
Chef special lobster in chilli paste and Thai herbs
This is something that even people that don't like spicy food will enjoy.
The chili paste is hot but the herbs really balance out everything and it's mixed to perfection.
You will find generous portions of juicy and tender lobster inside and this is something truly unique and special.
Priced pretty high at Tk 1895 plus VAT, we give this an 8 out of 10 and this too can easily fill up 3-4 people.
Seafood claypot with glass noodles
This is another unique dish and one of their new items. The glass noodles are the base of the dish with big pieces of calamari and river prawns on top, making a truly terrific trio.
Once again, the flavours of soy sauce, ginger, garlic, pepper and celery blends in beautifully and makes this a seriously solid dish.
Priced at Tk 995 plus VAT, and with enough to feed three, we give this another, solid 8 out of 10 rating.
Laughing Buddha is currently taking orders online and delivering from 3 pm to 11 pm and they plan to shift to Gulshan 2.
