Meena Bazar providing food aid to 50 farmer families
It has already began food distribution among many flood-affected farmers and farming families in the low-lying areas
Meena Bazar, one of the largest retail chains in Bangladesh, has taken an initiative to provide one-month food aid to at least 50 farmer families to help them cope up with the ongoing crises – Covid-19 pandemic and flood effects.
As part of the initiative, it has already began food distribution among many flood-affected farmers and farming families in the low-lying areas, according to a press release.
The release also says Meena Bazar's effort intends to bring smile on the faces of the farmers, who supply their agricultural produce to its different outlets, by helping them overcome all obstacles.
The superstore believes that it is high time to pay back those farmers who have been rendering tireless services to Meena Bazar for long by supporting them in these difficult times.
"This stems from the belief that these farmers were always steadfast for the welfare of us (Meena Bazar) and the country," reads the release.
In an aim to provide city residents with a convenient shopping experience, Meena Bazar started its journey in 2002.
The superstore serves its customers with organic goods, fresh produce and dairy products in Dhaka and Chattogram divisions.
Currently, Meena Bazar has 16 outlets.
