OC Pradeep, 34 other policemen sued in Cox’s Bazar triple murder case
Police killed them upon being denied a ransom, according to the case statement
Pradeep Kumar Das, Teknaf police station's suspended officer-in-charge (OC), and 40 others–including 34 policemen–are being sued in a triple murder case in Cox's Bazar.
Sultana Rabia Munni, a resident of Teknaf's Rangikhali area, filed the case on Monday with the court of Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Helal Uddin, said Kashem Ali, lawyer of the plaintiff.
Kashem said the court had directed the Teknaf police station to say whether there was any other case or any investigation report over the murder.

In the case statement, Sultana Rabia claimed that police took away her husband Sayed Alam, brother Nurul Amin and nephew Sayed Hosen Prakash from their home on the night of May 6 this year.
Later, OC Pradeep and Sub-Inspector Mashiur demanded Tk50 lakh from her family which they could not provide.
Police killed them upon being denied the money, read the statement.
Pradeep was withdrawn from Teknaf Police Station and attached to the district Police Lines over his alleged connection with the killing of retired Army major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan on July 31 in Cox's Bazar Marine Drive. Later, he was suspended.
Sinha's sister Sharmin Shahria Ferdous filed a case with the Teknaf Upazila Judicial Magistrate Court on August 5, accusing OC Pradeep, Baharchhara check-post in-charge Liaqat and seven other policemen of killing his brother.
