Jubo League leader remanded over casino crackdown
The RAB filed four cases against Jubo League leader Khalid Mahmud on Thursday
A Dhaka court on Thursday placed Jubo League leader Khalid Mahmud Bhuiyan on a total of 7-day remand in two cases filed following the crackdown on illegal casinos in Dhaka.
The police will interrogate him for four days in a case under the Arms Act and three days in another case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.
Earlier the same day, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) filed four cases against Khalid for illegally running a casino at the capital's Fakirapool area. The RAB also filed another case against three people of Wonderers Club with Motijheel police station.

"Two cases were filed under the Narcotics Control Act while another under the Arms Act and one under the Money Laundering Act against him (Khalid) with the Gulshan police Station," said Sarwoer Bin Kashem, RAB director (legal and media wing).
Earlier on Wednesday, a team of RAB 1 detained Khalid Mahmud Bhuiyan, organising secretary of Dhaka City South chapter of Jubo League, from his Gulshan residence in connection with running illegal casinos.
