Bangladesh is observing one-day national mourning in honour of Pranab Mukherjee, India's first Bengali president and a 'true friend' of Bangladesh, following his death on Monday.

Mukherjee, 84, the former Indian President had tested positive for Covid-19 this month and breathed his last in a Delhi hospital.
The Indian government and many states have announced seven-day official mourning.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also expressed deep condolence over the death of the Indian former president Pranab Mukherjee.
