RAB raids Dhanmandi Club, seals its bar temporarily
After a scrutiny, the decision will be taken regarding opening of the club's bar
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has sealed off the bar at Dhanmondi Club Limited for next 24 hours after finding mismanagement in stock register.
A team of RAB-2 cordoned off the club building on Friday night on allegation of gambling and illegal activities there. Executive Magistrate Md Gaosul Azam led the operation starting at 9:15pm tonight.
"During the drive, we also found some discrepancies in the bar," RAB-2 Company Commander Md Shahabuddin told journalists after the drive.

He also said that magistrate's decision is the final judgment during such type of drive. After a scrutiny, the decision will be taken regarding opening of the club's bar.
Earlier in the day, same RAB team detained Kalabagan Krira Chakra Club President Shafiqul Alam Firoz and four other club staff during a drive in the Kalabagan area of Dhaka.
The four detainees are Hafizul Islam, Harun, Anwar and Liton. Gambling chips, foreign pistols, 572 packets of playing cards, yellow yaba tablets and other casino material were also confiscated during the drive.
