Sinha murder: Probe body submits report to home minister
According to sources, the probe body has found no evidence of the police having shot Sinha in self-defence
A committee formed by the Home Ministry to probe into the murder of retired Major Sinha has submitted its report to the Home Minister today.
In a press conference at his ministry, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said, "The committee was supposed to submit the report within seven working days, but we had to extend it several times. Finally, we have received the full report."
"We haven't opened it yet. You know that police are investigating the case under court order, so we cannot give you much information on it publicly. We will let the court know what's in the report and if they want, they can take it through official procedures," the minister added.

Chattogram Additional Divisional Commissioner Md Mizanur Rahman, head of the probe committee, handed over the probe report to the minister.
According to sources, the probe body has found no evidence of the police having shot Sinha in self-defence. Further, policemen showed professional negligence at different levels after the firing, sources with the probe team said.
Major (retd) Sinha was killed in a police firing at Baharchhara police check-post in Teknaf on Cox's Bazar Marine Drive on July 31.
Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, Sinha's older sister, filed a case with Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court on August 5.
