Sinha murder: Writ seeks ban on revelation of probe information
The writ also sought directives not to present the accused in front of the media until the end of the investigation
A writ petition has been filed in the High Court seeking directives to the concerned parties not to disclose any information related to the retired army major Sinha murder case and investigation to the media.
Deputy Attorney General Bipul Bagmar has confirmed the matter.
Deb Dulal Rakshit, brother of suspended Sub-Inspector Nanda Dulal Rakshit, had filed the writ petition last week.

A High Court bench comprising Justice Md Khasruzzaman and Justice Mahmud Hasan Talukder held a partial hearing on the writ petition on Tuesday. The court has fixed the next hearing for next Sunday.
The writ also sought directives not to present the accused in front of the media until the end of the investigation. Four persons including home secretary and information secretary have been made respondents in the writ petition.
In addition, the writ also asked to issue a rule regarding why releasing information on the investigation into this case which is on trial at the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court in Cox's Bazar, should not be declared illegal.
Lawyers Asanullah and Sajal Mahmud Russell appeared for the writ petition. Deputy Attorney General Bipul Bagmar was present at the hearing on behalf of the state.
