Aziz Ahmad, a prominent figure in the field of digital technology, is going to participate in a technology summit called ''The Common Good in the Digital Age'' in Vatican City.
Aziz Ahmad, who is of Bangladeshi origin, is the chief executive officer of UTC Associates in the United States and co-founder of CodersTrust. He has been invited as a keynote speaker at the summit to be held from September 26 to 28. The event is supported by Pope Francis.
The summit is being held in response to recent developments in digital technology, especially artificial intelligence, which have generated global debate on the social, ethical and political implications of these changes.
"Humanity has entereda new era where technical prowess has brought us to a crossroads. On the one hand, we are beneficiaries of two centuries of enormous waves of change. On the other hand, the power of technology is often associated with financial and economic power. Those who hold this power over humanity are not necessarily trained to use it well," Pope Francis expressed his concern in his encyclical.
"It is our responsibility as business leaders to address these issues head on, and to work on solutions that benefit our fellow global citizens regardless of where they are from or what economic conditions they are dealing with," said Aziz Ahmad.
Aziz will give a presentation on the ''Future of Work'', and participate in a panel discussion on September 27th beginning at 2:00pm.
