The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) has signed an agreement with the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) to set up a business development office at the Bangabandhu industrial city. facilitate modern banking services for local and foreign investors.

Md Shoaib, general manager of BEZA and Mahbub ur Rahman, HSBC Bangladesh chief executive officer signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations at a function at BEZA office in the capital.
BEZA Executive Chairman Paban Chowdhury presided over the meeting.
Other senior officials from both organisations were present on the occasion.
Paban Chowdhury said the partnership will help Bangladesh lure local and foreign businesses to invest in economic zones.
He also urged HSBC to open their services for investors in the economic zones as soon as possible.
HSBC Bangladesh Chief Executive Mahbub ur Rahman lauded the role of BEZA for transforming the country into an investment-friendly territory in the world.
