Chandpur schoolgirl ‘takes own life’ after being stalked; 2 held
Failing to bear the agony and harassment, the victim committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling.
A schoolgirl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house after 'being stalked by her two classmates' at Bahari village in Matlab Dakkhin upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Roksana Akter Drishti, 14, a seventh grader and daughter of Abdul Rashid Bepari of the village.
Swapan Kumar, officer-in-charge of Matlab Dakkhin Police Station, said Akash and Sabbir used to stalk Roksana on her way to school from home.
Later Roksana's mother went to the headmaster of the school and lodged a complaint against the two schoolboys.
She then went to the parents of Akash and Sakib but they did not pay any heed to her request and blamed the girl.
Being scolded by the headmaster, Akash and Sakib again stalked the girl on her way home on Wednesday .
Failing to bear the agony and harassment, Roksana committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling, said the OC quoting her family members .
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to local hospital morgue for autopsy.
