AIBL gets two new deputy managing directors
Syed Masodul Bari started his banking career as a probationary officer in Sonali Bank and later joined the Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited in 2000
Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd (AIBL) has promoted Syed Masodul Bari and Md Mahmudur Rahman to the post of deputy managing director (DMD).
Prior to being promoted, Syed Masodul Bari served the bank as senior executive vice president and chief technology officer while Md Mahmudur Rahman was its senior executive vice president and company secretary, said a media statement on Wednesday.
Syed Masodul Bari started his banking career as a probationary officer in Sonali Bank and later joined the Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited in 2000.
In his 25-year banking career, he led Al-Arafah Islami Bank to launch online banking services with the help of fully domestic technology.
Mr Bari obtained a post-graduation degree in Computer Science and an MBA major in Finance.
He also completed professional certificate courses from Oracle CISCO and IBM and participated in many training programmes in home and abroad.
On the other hand, Md Mahmudur Rahman was born in a noble Muslim family in Kosba upazila of Brahmanbaria district.
He obtained his graduate and postgraduate degrees from the department of political science of Dhaka University.
He started his banking career in Grameen Bank in 1988.
He joined the Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd in 1999 and served the bank as company secretary from 2001 to 2004.
He later joined the First Security Islami Bank in 2006 and worked in various important positions of the bank till October 2017.
He again joined the Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited as company secretary in 2017.
Mr Mahmudur Rahman received training in banking and finance and attended many local and international conferences, seminars, training and business development programmes.
