Lighting: Tips and tricks
Depending on the size and colour of rooms, lights and different shades of it can make it or break it. You can make rooms look cozy or make them look like a cubbyhole, all by lighting them up the wrong way, or the right way.
For small rooms, you can put a chandelier or a standing lamp in a corner and create a focus point with strong style statement. To set the right mood inside your house, the following tips could come in handy–
Juxtaposing old and new
Suppose you have a super contemporary living room but you also have the desire to use an old, traditional pendent lamp that you inherited from your grandmother. Do not hesitate to use it at all!
Choose a corner with few cozy sitters or the center of the space and hang the lamp with proper connection. Doing the opposite situation will also complement your space.
Having contrast in colour
You can create magic with the coloured lights. For example, a warm yellowish colour will boost your energy where cool, rather bluish shades will offer you a calm and resting mood.
Trying something new
These days it is quite trendy to use fairy lights in bedrooms or the family living space/corner. These small electronic fireflies in series of LED lights can add colour and glaze to your house. After all, why not break the monotonous designs of lamp and feel free to use modern aspects for drama and depths?
Balancing a story
In order to design a small reading corner, you can definitely have a sculptural light source that will define aesthetic, form and function. Balancing a formal space with an accent lamp will elevate the whole entity of the space by adding modern and fresh vibes.
Playing with texture and proportion
Having a three-tiered chandelier in a double-height space or using a directional light on a textured wall or an art piece can bloom the spatial quality and level up your taste.
