ISPAB warns to impose daily 3-hr internet shutdown from Oct 18
The shutdown will be from 10am to 1pm daily
The Internet Service Provider Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB), the apex body of the internet industry in the country, has announced a countrywide shutdown of internet, data connectivity, and associated services from October 18 to press home their demands.
The shutdown will be from 10am to 1pm daily.
ISPAB Secretary General Md Emdadul Hoque told The Business Standard that the protest will continue until their demands are met by the government.
Their demands include - the government should fix the price of NTTN to provide low-cost internet and cable TV services at the consumer level, and a committee consisting of Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh, Cable Operators Association of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission, Nationwide Telecommunication Transmission Network (NTTN) and City Corporations will have to conduct a field level investigation to ensure the setting up of the last mile cable.
