2 workers die in Cox’s Bazar landslide
The police with the help of the locals removed the soil and recovered their bodies
Two workers died in a landslide at Ramu in Cox's Bazar while cutting hills last night.
The deceased are- Ali Ahmed, 35, son of late Md Hossein and Mujibur Rahman, 32, son of Md Kalu.
According to the locals, a group of workers were cutting hills when the landslide took place, killing two of them.
On information, the police with the help of the locals removed the soil and recovered their bodies.
"People cut hills at night to evade the administration. Even a few days ago, a campaign was launched to stop the hill cutting here," said Ramu Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Pranay Chakma after visiting the spot in the morning.
Ramu Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) KM Ajmiruzzaman said, "The bodies were brought to the police station and necessary legal step is underway."
