Maritime ports advised to hoist signal no 4
All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay and deep sea have been advised to remain in shelter until further notice
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Friday advised maritime ports to hoist local cautionary signal number 4.
Due to a deep depression created in the Bay of Bengal, strong winds have been blowing in the coastal areas since morning. Along with that, there is heavy rain.
It was found in the northwest bay and adjacent area but later moved northeastwards, according to the Met office.

Satkhira Meteorological Department Officer-in-Charge Zulfiqar Ali said due to the effect of deep depression, there will be intermittent rain from Friday afternoon to evening.
"With that, the wind speed has ascend to 50-60 kph within 48km of the deep depression centre. But the weather will gradually return to normal in the evening," added Ali.
The deep depression was about 445 km west-southwest of Chattogram Port at 6 am, 445 km west-southwest of Cox's Bazar Port, 240 km southwest of Mongla Port, and 280 km southwest of Payra Port at 6 am.
Meanwhile, all types of shipping services in Barguna have been declared closed to avoid accidents and loss of life due to hostile weather.
Besides, 74,000 volunteers including 509 shelters have been prepared.
Md Zakir Hossain Miraj, team leader of Cyclone Preparedness Program (CPP) of Barguna upazila, said, "All our volunteers are ready. They will take the next step as per the next instructions of the Meteorological Department."
In the meantime, the Met Office cautioned that low-lying coastal areas might be inundated by tidal waves three to five feet above the normal astronomical tide under the influence of the deep depression.
Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jhalakathi, Pirojpur, Barguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barisal, Lakshmipur, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Chittagong and their offshore islands and chars are regions that may see tidal surges.
