Day returns to lead training sessions of booters after 10 months
The Englishman, on his return to Bangladesh after seven months, is delighted to see the players again. "I was eagerly waiting to return. It's great to be back again. The boys are also excited," the Englishman said.
Jamie Day, the head coach of Bangladesh national football team, has finally returned to monitor the training sessions involving the footballers after about ten months. The last time he was doing so was in January earlier this year.
The Asian Cup and World Cup qualifiers against Afghanistan and Qatar got postponed due to Covid-19 which were scheduled to take place in September. With no action in sight, Day went back to England. A camp involving the footballers started in August but was cancelled soon after as it was struck by Covid-19. So, Day was not in a hurry to return to Bangladesh.

Day was quite satisfied with the fitness of the footballers on his return to the country. Few of them have some issues, but the coach is not at all worried as there is a lot of time ahead of the friendly game against Nepal.
Day said on Sunday, "The boys have been working hard over the last few days. Some of them are in good shape in terms of fitness while few of them have some issues. We have a few days left to get everyone back in a good shape."
Bangladesh will play two friendly matches against Nepal on November 13 and 17. Ahead of this, a training camp started on October 24.
