"US trade relations with Bangladesh will be improved simply because of their own needs and geopolitical priorities, and they will also invest in new sectors of our country” he opined.
The relationship (trade) between the US and Bangladesh is of geopolitical importance and will be strengthened, said Foreign Minister, Dr AK Abdul Momen.
He made the remarks while placing a wreath at the grave of Professor Dr Shamsuzzoha on the campus of Rajshahi University, Saturday afternoon.
Momen said every government has their own interest. The new US government will also do the same. "As a result, US trade relations with Bangladesh will be improved simply because of their own needs and geopolitical priorities, and they will also invest in new sectors of our country" he opined.
Hopeful about the repatriation of Rohingyas, the Minister said that the new government led by Aung San Suu Kyi would take back their people to prevent dishonor on Myanmar's name. At the same time, other countries of the world will support us to mitigate the issue.
Later, the Minister visited various sections of Rajshahi University and attended a meeting organised by Rajshahi University Teachers' Association (RUTA).
