Mobile data cost goes up
Customers will have to pay total 27.77 percent tax on such services
The proposed budget for fiscal year 2019-20 brings headache for mobile phone users as they will have to pay higher bills from next month.
The existing supplementary duty on mobile data will be double to 10 percent this fiscal year.
With this new tax plan, customers will have to pay total 27.77 percent tax on the services provided by mobile phone networks.
Mobile phone users now have to pay 15 percent VAT, 5 percent supplementary duty, and 1 percent surcharge on their bill for phone calls, internet and other usages.
