As part of publication of real Freedom Fighters list, the civilian freedom fighters gazettes, published without the approval of the Jatiyo Muktijoddha Council (Jamuka), will be scrutinised on 19 December.
The verification and selection activities will be held at 10 am at the offices of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer in the upazila level and at the office of the Deputy Commissioner in the metropolitan level.
The decision was taken at the 71st meeting of the National Freedom Fighters Council (Jatiyo Muktijoddha Council) held on December 3, said a PID handout on Wednesday.
The verification list and related details can be found on the website of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs (www.molwa.gov.bd) and the website of the National Freedom Fighters Council (www.jamuka.gov.bd).
Such gazetted heroic freedom fighters have been asked to make their presence with at least 3 Indian / Lal Muktibarta (Lal Boi, or red book) listed comrades / co-trained witnesses and necessary documents.
The person who received training inside Bangladesh, has to prove which war he has participated in through 3 Indian / Lal Muktibarta (Lal Boi, or red book) listed freedom fighters.
This verification and selection process has to be completed in the presence of the freedom fighters listed in the Indian / Lal Muktibarta (Lal Boi, or red book).
It is to be noted that according to Section 7 (Jha) of the National Freedom Fighters Council Act, 2002, the Council has the power to make recommendations to the Government by "compiling a list of real freedom fighters".
