Boy saved dying crow calling nat’l emergency service
Ujjal made the call after seeing a hanging crow entangled in a thread from a tree top in front of the Rupali Bank branch in Laxmipur area of Rajshahi
A stranded and nearly-dead crow got its life back on Wednesday, thanks to Ujjal, a local youth from Rajshahi, who helped to rescue the bird by calling the national emergency service number – 999.
Ujjal made the call after seeing a hanging crow entangled in a thread from a tree top in front of the Rupali Bank branch in Laxmipur area of Rajshahi. Shortly, a team from Rajshahi Fire Service and Civil Defense reached the spot.
The fire service team rescued the crow after a 40-minute effort and handed it over to Ujjal and on-duty police members who later released it.
AKM Latiful Bari, station officer at Rajshahi Sadar Fire Station, said they received an emergency call at around 11:07am.
"The rescue operation was disrupted as there was a main power transmission line. The crow's wings and legs caught in the torn thread of kites," he also said.
The crow was exhausted for being stranded on the tree for a long time, he added.
