Four bandits killed in Sundarbans 'gunfight'
Three firearms and ammunition were recovered from the scene
Four alleged bandits of Aminur Bahini were killed in a reported gun battle with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Koyra upazila of the Sundarbans early today.
Three of the deceased were identified as band leader Aminur, his second-in-command Rafiq and another member of the gang Shri Moni Saha.
"On secret information that some robbers took position in the forest's Kairakhali area, a team of RAB-6 conducted a drive there," said RAB-6 acting Special Company Commander Md Tofazzel Hossain.

"Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the robbers opened fire on them, forcing them to retaliate," he said.
The four men died on the scene. Their bodies were later taken to Koyra Upazila Health Complex.
