‘FRRI’s river-erosion prevention method will be a global role model
The minister visited Naria upazila in Shariatpur where permanent prevention method of FRRI is being implemented to tackle erosion of Padma River
Once Faridpur River Research Institute's (FRRI) river erosion prevention method is fully implemented, it will become a global a role model.
State Minister for Water Resources Zahid Faruk expressed his expectations while addressing a meeting as the chief guest with FRRI officials at the institute's conference room on Thursday noon.
Encouraging the efforts made by the officials, he said, "Carry on with what you're doing, the government will provide all manner of support."
After the meeting, the minister visited Naria upazila in Shariatpur where permanent prevention method of FRRI is being implemented to tackle erosion of Padma River.
FRRI Director General Md Alim Uddin presided over the meeting attended by Additional Secretary for Water Resources Ministry, Md Rokon Ud Doula, Deputy Commissioner of Faridpur Atul Sarker, district SP Md Alimuzzaman, and District Council Chairman Md Shamsul Huq, among others.
The minister later visited erosion-affected areas on the bank of the Madhumati River, the residence of Bir Shreshtha Munsi Abdur Rouf.
