National parliament Whip Shamsul Hoque Chowdhury has been diagnosed with Covid-19.
Shamsul Hoque Chowdhury has been placed in home isolation at his residence in Chattogram city.
His son Sharun Chowdhury, director of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), confirmed of the matter on Saturday.
Sharun Chowdhury said, "My father felt ill after attending a meeting of the port's advisory committee on December 20. Samples were collected from him for coronavirus test."
"His test result came out positive after the samples were tested on December 23. His physical condition is currently stable," Sharun Chowdhury added.
