High Court's full verdict on moving cellphone towers published

The High Court has directed the authorities concerned to move the mobile phone companies' towers, or Base Transceiver Stations used for cellular transmission, from densely populated areas across the country within 4 months, according to a recently published complete copy of an HC verdict.
A bench of Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed and Justice Md Iqbal Kabir passed the order on April 25 considering the health risks posed to people by radiation in the vicinity of the towers, after hearing a writ petition filed by Human Right and Peace for Bangladesh.
The complete copy of the order which was published on Tuesday also presented a 12-point direction which should be implemented within four months, said the petitioner Manzil Murshid.
Khondokar Reza-i-Rakin stood for Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) while Deputy Attorney General Kazi Zinat Haque represented the state.
