34 get PhD, 15 MPhil degrees from DU

As many as 34 researchers have gotten Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees while 15 others were given Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degrees from Dhaka University (DU) this year.

They were given the degrees at a syndicate meeting with DU vice-chancellor Akhtaruzzaman in the chair on 30 December, said a press release on Thursday. 

Besides, one student has been given D.B.A degree under Institute of Business Administration (IBA). 

The PhD recipients are- Md Abdul Kuddus, Ahmed Jamal Anwar of Philosophy Department, A K M Nazimuddin of Applied Mathematics, Md Abul Saleh of Political Science Department, MS Nurjahan Begum, Suprobhat Kumar Sarker and Md Mahmud Hasan of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Department, Md Mahmudul Hasan of Chemistry Department, Md Mosharaf Hossain of Mathematics Department, Pronami Chowdhury, Farhana Islam Khan and Shafiul Azam Shafi of of Botany Department, Md Nazrul Islam, Md Nazmul Haque and Shah Manjur Rashed of Microbiology Department, Bhakta Kumar Biswas of Management Information System Department, Shawkat Imam Khan of Zoology Department, Ayatun Nesa, Amrita Bhowmick and Soma Hayat of Bio-Chemistry and Molecular Department, Munira Sultana of Health Economics Institute, Golam Gaus Alakderi of English Department, Mohamamd Selim Chowdhury of Educational and Counseling Psychology Department,  Mohammad Ehsan Uddin of Disaster Science and Management Department, Md Billal Hossain of Institute of Education and Research (IER), Sayma Ahmed of Geography and Environment Department, Md Jahangir Alam of Bangla Department, Ms Rupali Khatun of Islamic History and Culture Department, Mohammad Jakaria and Sajeda Humaira of Islamic Studies Department, Debasish Rupali of Music Department, Sajidur Rahman of Soil, Water and Environment Science Department and Fahad Hossain of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology Department and Zesan Ara of Clinical Psychology Department. 

The MPhil recipients are --- Ataur Rahman Shahan of Arabic Department, Rahima Akter and Chamely Samad of World Religion and Culture Department, Mahjabin Sultana Mitul and Julia Parveen of Public Administration Department, Tasnuva Haque of Educational and Counselling Psychology Department, Jannatul Ferdous and Lutfun Nahar of Clinical Psychology Department, Md Tanvir Islam of Political Science Department, Tanjila Islam of Applied Chemistry & Chemical Engineering Department, Md Sahedul Islam of Management Information Systems Department, Jahanara Dewan of Islamic Studies Department, Sanjay Kabiraj of Music Department, Basharat Hossain of Economics Department and Anushila Biswas of Sanskrit Department. 

The DBA degree recipient is- Md Mahbub Jahan Khan of Institute of Business Administration (IBA).
