SCaRSV demands capital punishment in Mastermind School student rape case
The student group raised the demand while taking part in a civic action organised in front of the Kalabagan grounds in the capital on Sunday
The Students' Community Against Rape and Sexual Violence (SCaRSV) has demanded maximum punishment for Dihan, one of the key suspects in the Mastermind School student rape case, and for the trial to be carried out at a speedy trial tribunal.
The student group raised the demands while taking part in a civic action organised in front of the Kalabagan grounds in the capital at 4pm on Sunday, said a press release issued by SCaRSV.
Students and teachers of different educational institutions spoke at the event.
The speakers demanded that if necessary, the law should be amended to speed up the trial of Dihan at the tribunal.
Shibli Hasan, the convener of the organisation, also announced that SCaRSV will launch an anti-rape campaign at Kalabagan bus stand at 4pm on Wednesday, the release added.
