Mizanur Rahman Khan buried at Mirpur
The eminent journalist died while undergoing treatment at a Dhaka hospital on Monday evening
Eminent journalist and daily Prothom Alo's Joint Editor Mizanur Rahman Khan was buried at Martyred Intellectual Graveyard at Mirpur in the capital at 2pm on Tuesday.
His family members, relatives, and colleagues from Prothom Alo were present at the time.
Earlier at 10:00 in the morning, Khan's first Namaj-e-Janaza was held at the Supreme Court premises, attended by SC judges, lawyers and journalists. After the janaza, wreaths were placed on his coffin.
His body was thentaken to Dhaka Reporters' Unity premises where his second namaj-e-janaza was held, attended by current and former DRU leaders and members, as well as journalists from different media houses.
His third namaj-e-janaza was held at National Press Club premises. From there, his body was taken in front of Prothom Alo office, where Editor Matiur Rahman and other journalists paid their final tributes and prayers were offered for the salvation of his departed soul.
Khan died at a private hospital in the capital on Monday evening while undergoing treatment. He was 53 years old. He is survived by his mother, wife, three children, five brothers, three sisters and a host of relatives and admirers.
